Class divided in 6 groups
Aims:
By the end of this week students will have created in groups, activities to revise both the grammar, the vocabulary and the written expressions of each chapter (from chapter 1 to 6). Each group will then have an entire class to lead their peers into a revision of their assigned chapter.
Monday:
Division into groups and assignments of each Unit per group.
Explanation as to what the revision activities implies: 3 sections over 3 days (Vocabulary, Grammar, Oral work – in each section, a theory/revision part has to be followed by a practice/exercise part (ie: powerpoint presentation lead by a student followed by an individual written exercise by the students OR presentation with vocab flash cards followed by a class quiz) – starting Friday the 17th each group will have a class to do their 6 activities (3 theory + 3 practice)
Group discussion on the approach to tackle each section (what tools will be use, what exactly will be covered – will it involve a class presentation, group work or individual work – what type of activity will it be? Written work, online presentation, role play, flash cards, posters, song…)
Objectives: By the end of the class each group should have given a plan to their teacher of what preparation they intend to do on the next 3 classes, what resources they will need (laptop, books …) as well as who will be doing what. It is the students’ duty to come prepare to the following lesson with whatever material they need.
Tuesday:
Group work on the Grammar: one theory activity (6mins max) & one practice activity (6mins max)
Every student from each group need to play a part at some stage in the activities.
If students are done with one section before the end of the class, they need to continue onto the next section as every activity has to be ready by Thursday, last class.
Objectives: Have the grammar theory activity and grammar practice activity ready by the end of the class. Give the teacher a written account of how it will take place. Make sure you let him know if you will need the use of the computer/projector and make sure to provide him with the necessary resources you will need on the day.
Thursday morning:
