2019/20 – 5th year – Semaine du 26 mars au 2 avril

Chers élèves,

First of all: Well done to you all! I can imagine that with the recent changes that happened your routine may have been a little challenging. However I hope you are enjoying spending time with your family, hopefully enjoying the sun too and especially loving some French! On this note, here is this week’s assignments: Youpi! (as French people say).

A reminder that even though you are at home, you should make sure to upload your work (especially your written work) on Google classroom. This week you will need to do some personal reflection work on last week’s assignment so you need your previous assignments done.

Some of you have also yet to join the French Google classroom and check regularly the “Hangouts” messaging platform. Make sure you join the French Google classroom (I am sending the class code once more this week on the Hangouts platform). Please type your written work using Google doc and upload it on Google classroom, this is so I can correct your work properly. I will not be able to correct any handwritten work.

Watch the French news as often as you can via TV5monde.org

Choose one of the following online activity. A2 is elementary level, B1 is intermediate level and B2 is advanced level. There are four exercises per activity, explanations are at the top and the correction of each exercise is given to you once you click “Ok” at the end. This exercise is a good opportunity to widen your vocabulary by adding some words you find useful in your copy.

Duolingo:

Practice Duolingo for 15 minutes everyday or for 30 minutes every two days. Remember you can do so with the Duolingo App or from any laptop/computer.

 

Oral prep (Ms Crowley and Mr porzadny’s class):

Preparation of 3 questions of Unit 5 (page 76/77 or Bonne chance). Please type your work using Google doc and upload it in the “Oral prep” section of google classroom.

Vocab Unit 5 : learn vocab page 81

 

Mosaique:

Make sure that written 3.3 p101 is typed and uploaded in the “Written production” section on Google classroom.

Correct 3.1 p99/100 and 3.2 p101 (the correction can be found in the “Reading comprehension” section on Google classroom).

Do the reading comprehension 1.1 p103/104, the listening 4.2 p102 and the vocab work 1.2 p105.

 

Personal reflection work

Every week I will ask you to write few lines about the work you have been doing the past week. This is for me to know you have done your work but also to know if anything needs to be change/improved (we are all in the same boat here, it’s a first for everyone).

In google classroom you will find the file called: “Réflexion personnelle de la semaine du 19 au 26 mars” under the “Réflexion personnelle” heading. Click on it and fill each section.

For the personal reflection work of you written production, you need to go back through the correction I made of your work and do what we usually do in class that is to say, write the mistake, the correction and a little reflection on it (how can I improve, what was the mistake, etc.)

Ecoute: Exemple: A2 was too easy so I did B1 which was still too easy. Could you upload some B2 level activities please?

Duolingo: Exemple: Nothing much, I did my weekly share of duolingo practice.

Oral prep: Exemple: I find it too difficult to learn a whole page.Can we get less vocab please? 

Mosaique: Exemple: It was easy enough but I think you gave us too much to do. + Exemple (written production) – try do do at least 5 of them: Mistake: Je suis 17 ans – Correction: J’ai 17 ans – Personal reflection: In French we say I have 17 years of age.

Youtube project: Exemple: I had great fun doing this project. Hope everyone will enjoy it.

But just before: Can Daniel (the Daniel who hasn’t uploaded his work), Neil, William and Adam please upload your Youtube project in its section on Google classroom. The recap’ of the work here again:

  • Pick a youtube video in French (2 to 3minutes max), it can be a documentary, a video clip, a piece of news in French, etc.
  • Then do some research work: understanding the video (which my involve use of dictionary, google trnaslater, etc.)
  • Next create a 75 word written production inf French in which you explain what this video is about and any other sort of info you find relevant.
  • Finally create a set of 7 to 10 questions (B1 level) with the answers.

Once your project is done, upload a file with all its content (link to video, written production, set of questions/asnwers) in the “Yoututbe project” assignment on Google classroom.

La description du projet par Emilie: Cyprien est un des meilleurs Youtubeurs en France, il a plus de douze millions d’abonnés sur sa chaîne YouTube. Cette vidéo montre comment le youtubeurs Cyprien n’aimait pas l’école. Il discute des choses qu’il a trouvées ennuyeuses, des choses qu’il a aimées et des choses qu’il a fait quand il s’est ennuyé. J’ai pensé que ce serait intéressant pour la classe parce que toutes ces choses dont il parle sont très générales et nous concernent aussi, ce qui rend cette vidéo amusante.

Un peu de vocabulaire (car Emilie est gentille et elle veut vous aider):

  • Une télécommande – a remote
  • La mine – the lead
  • un taille crayon – pencil sharpener
  • baver – to drool
  • froisser – to crumble something
  • gommer – to erase (using and eraser)
  • L’ennui – boredom
  • poignardé – stabbed

  1. Avec quoi l’autre cyprien a téléporté le vrai Cyprien?
  2. Citez une petite chose qu’a ennuyé Cyprien à l’école
  3. Qu’est-ce qu’il a touché quand il a mis sa main sous la table?
  4. Avec quoi s’est-il poignardé?
  5. Que font tous les étudiants pour éviter le professeur?
  6. Qu’est-ce qu’il l’a plus ennuyé?
  7. Citez une petite chose qu’il aimait à l’école
  8. Quel était son pire ennemi dans l’école?
  9. Citez une chose qu’il a fait quand il s’ennuyait 
  10. Dans l’ensemble, pensez-vous que cyprien aimait l’école et pourquoi?
